For immediate release Contact: Jim Duran (805) 212-8240 jimduran@me.com “Backpacks for Success” [Ventura, CA, 7/3/2012] – The River Community Church (TRC) will be giving out 300 backpacks for elementary to high school aged students that are in need of a little assistance. This event will take place on Saturday, August 11th from 8 AM until 11 AM at Skating Plus located at 1720 Mesa Verde Ave. in Ventura. The Palms Assisted Living will be cooking up an incredible pancake breakfast while the team of TRC will be providing free face painting and balloon animals as the backpacks loaded with school supplies get distributed. “Backpacks For Success” is for children of all ages that live in the Ventura area. TRC wants to ensure that our youth are better prepared as they start the new school year by providing them a new backpack loaded with pens, pencils, highlighters, binders etc. “The children are our future and no child should start school without necessary supplies. We need to work together to give children a better opportunity to prepared for life,” says Jim Duran, Lead Pastor at TRC. Mel Sheeler, President of Sheeler Moving & Storage has donated all the boxes so local businesses can collect school supplies and backpacks.
