2012 Photo Contest Winners
11/01/2012
All of us have Kodak moments in our lives that escape us. It may be burned into our minds, but nevertheless memories fade and we find ourselves longing for that camera we wished we had at that moment. But then there are ordinary moments, moments that seem to have little significance until someone catches it. In this year’s photo contest, we were blown away by the drama, the colors, the contrast, the emotion caught in ordinary life. With that, we are excited to announce this year’s photo contest winners!
With dozens of digital entries, the caliber of photos from amateurs was, well, amazing. With judges Michel Miller, Shane Cohn, Christy Cisneros, Michael Sullivan and David Comden, it wasn’t hard to recognize the striking beauty and curious simplicity of these images. Submissions for professional photos were lacking in comparison to amateur, so professional photos received honorable mentions until that arena grows in the future.
Much thanks to our sponsor, Samy’s Camera, Santa Barbara! Grand prize winner will receive a $200 gift card, redeemable at Samy’s Camera; placeholders will receive a photo book with their photos, a $29.95 value. Please contact editor@vcreporter.com for more details.
