Time For Action
Volunteers and docents needed
Ventura County emergency services
training exercise, May 2
Five hundred volunteers are needed to provide support for a disaster exercise, which will allow response entities to test plans to improve response capacity in our county and to better protect residents in a disaster should one occur in or near our community. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all registered victim volunteers older than 18 years of age. Children will be allowed to volunteer only with an appropriate adult guardian.

The glorious 100-year-old edifice of the Ojai Valley Museum has just been renovated and is in need of volunteers, from docents to archivists in order to help keep it polished to a high gloss. To learn more, call Davida Maron at 640-1390, ext. 203, or email Ojaimuseumdavida@sbcglobal.net.
Channel Island Maritime Museum needs docents
Being a docent gives you the opportunity to admire art objects and ship models, learn maritime history in a small class setting and enjoy the company of an active and interesting group of fellow volunteers. Volunteers will conduct tours of the museum, greet visitors, collect admission, work with school groups and conduct other various activities.
