Greens should support Kucinich
01/25/2008
Our future is at stake in what is really a two-party political system. This is an open invitation to all Green Party members and members of other political parties to change your voter registration so that you can vote for Dennis Kucinich in the California presidential primary Feb. 5. California Green Party's Blasé Bonpane endorsed Kucinich because a vote for Dennis is not a vote for a political party. It is a vote for the future of humanity and our planet.
Before I heard Dennis speak at the Americans for Democratic Action, "Our Democracy After 9/11, Can We Save It?" forum at USC in 2002, I had lost faith in the Democratic Party and registered as a member of the Green Party. After going to his Web site to discover more about this courageous Ohio congressman, I felt so strongly that Kucinich must be the next president of the United States that I changed my voterregistration back to Democrat. Kucinich has never taken any corporate or special interest contributions and relies on individual donations to his campaigns. He has consistently done what is right - not what is always easy or popular. As mayor of Cleveland, Dennis had the backbone to stand up and save Cleveland's Municipal Light and Power from a big corporate utility takeover.
He is the only Democratic presidential candidate who voted against the Patriot Act and its renewal, and introduced legislation to end the Iraq war and bring our troops home. Dennis has the leadership to make war a last resort, achieve single-payer health care, bring back American jobs and fair trade by ending NAFTA and the WTO, restore real jobs in America to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, and protect our environment, civil rights and Constitution. Connecting global warring and global warming, Kucinich has proposed a Works Green Administration that will allow us to organize our country around sustainability and conservation, achieve environmental preparedness and efficiency, protect the planet, prime the economy and free our nation from dependence on foreign oil.
Law allows only "Democrat" or "Decline to State" voters to vote in the Democratic primary. To change the course of history with strength through peace and vote for Kucinich to lead our nation toward a sustainable future bright with promise, request a California voter registration form online at
www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_vr.htm or call me at (805) 218-1199 to send a form to you. Registration forms must be postmarked by Jan. 22, 2008.
