Stella, 5,
German shepherd mix

Stella is a 5-year-old German shepherd mix; she is house- and crate-trained. She’s protective of her people and likes to be in charge, so she needs an experienced dog owner, additional training, and would do best in an adult-only home, or one without young children. She comes when called, sits and stays on command, and walks well on a leash. Stop by and meet this loyal and loving girl. She may be the perfect family addition.

Stella can be seen by calling the Canine Adoption and Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) at 644-7387 to schedule a meet and greet at the sanctuary in Santa Paula or the adoption center in Ventura. C.A.R.L. also has regular viewing hours for select dogs from noon to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday at Sam’s Place Adoption Center, located behind Ventura Pet Barn at 3203 E. Main St., Ventura.

Nyla, 2,
American Staffordshire terrier

Nyla is a full-of-life 2-year-old, brown and white American Staffordshire terrier who maintains her weight at a healthy 55 pounds. Nyla is frequently walked on leash, well-socialized with male dogs and is currently crate-trained. Nyla is great with kids and active adults of all ages. Nyla is looking for the active family who can take her on runs on the beach or hiking in the hills.

Nyla can be seen at Santa Paula Animal Rescue, located at 705 E. Santa Barbara St. in Santa Paula. It is open every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Mondays and Wednesdays. For more information, call 525-8609.
