3RD ANNUAL SPENCER MAKENZIE’S END OF SUMMER BLOCK PARTY Saturday, Aug. 25, 12-10 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 26, 12-7 p.m The two day block party will feature live music, a corn hole tournament, beer and wine, a sand castle contest, eclectic vendors, a massive kid’s activity hosted by the Ventura Family YMCA and all of the award winning food and sauces that Spencer Makenzie’s Fish Company is know for. ARTISTS UNION GALLERY Aug. 25 through Oct. 7. “Art of the Book 4” features contemporary, traditional, and unusual book art. This includes three-dimensional artwork that uses any book format (from tablets to codex) or a book as the base for the artwork. Two-dimensional artwork includes text as an integral part of its composition, like the Richard Troncone multimedia pyramid book pictured.
