LEO KOTTKE Saturday, Oct. 12, 7 p.m. Leo Kottke has recorded more than 30 albums that showcase his barnstorming fretwork and quirky songwriting. He is truly a master of the guitar whose playing has influenced generations of musicians and listeners, and he still tours the country relentlessly, playing his six- and 12-stringed guitars for appreciative audiences in venues ranging from New England to Southern California, from Brisbane to Berlin. Mr. Kottke is a stunning guitar player, a gifted vocalist, and one very funny man on stage. Libbey Bowl, Ojai. GHOSTWALK Oct. 12-28. Presented annually to benefit the Santa Paula Theater Center, GHOSTWALK® is an hour-long guided tour of vintage Santa Paula neighborhoods featuring historical and architectural history of the city of Santa Paula. Along the way, participants will encounter a number of lost souls who will thrill them with the story of their untimely demise. The scripts incorporate colorful, historic locations and events about Santa Paula’s early residents. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for students and children. A special $10 adult ticket is available for the first weekend only. This year’s GhostWalk® will take place in The Oaks, an eclectic community on the outskirts of the east end of the city. The first tour leaves at 6:30 p.m. and the last at 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from the ticket tents at 999 Cliff Drive. Reservations can be made by calling 525-3073. OJAI STUDIO ARTISTS TOUR Oct. 13-14. The 29th Studio Tour is a feast for art lovers, a journey involving 46 artists and 42 studios located throughout the sumptuous Ojai Valley. VENTURA OYSTERFEST Saturday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. The theme of the event is oysters, and we will have representation from oyster farms throughout with our local The Jolly Oyster, Drakes Bay Oyster Company, Tomales Bay Oyster Company, Pickleweed Point Oyster Co. and Carlsbad Aquafarm all attending. The marquee tent will include cooking demos by three renowned chefs, a shuck and suck competition and a town hall forum on sustainable farming. Five bands will play the main stage throughout the day with local favorite Rey Fresco headlining.
