OJAI DAY Saturday, Oct. 20. Ojai Day is as unique as the city itself and celebrates the rich artistic, agricultural and cultural heritage of the beautiful Ojai Valley. The event features dozens of local artisans, health and wellness practitioners, farmers, non-profit organizations and commercial vendors who have exhibition and demonstration booths situated throughout the central Ojai Avenue area. There will be music, food, crafts, artworks, classic cars and even belly dancers.
HALLOWEEN TALES FROM THE WOMEN’S (AND MEN’S) LOCKER ROOM Through Oct. 21. A handful of spooky-campy short plays are presented by SENGA Classic Stage Company: an aging Southern drag queen gets nostalgic, a wise-cracking Italian American bargains for the best price on a coffin, sisters and secrets, and sexual mischief discussed at the tennis club. $17. KINETIC SCULPTURE RACE Saturday, Oct. 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Enjoy human-powered beautiful-to-quirky kinetic sculptures racing over sea, sand, mud and land during the 15th annual Kinetic Sculpture Race! This is the only race of its kind in Southern California where creatively engineered machines are transformed into moving, artful sculptures. This free family event, benefiting Turning Point Foundation, will take place at Ventura Harbor Village, 1603 Anchors Way Drive, Ventura.
