JEFF KAISER Purveyor of the avant-garde and veteran Ventura arts scenemaker, Jeff Kaiser, is coming home to regale friends and fans with his unique music compositions. Kaiser has been away for some time, hard at work on a PhD in music with a focus on improvisation and emergent technologies. If that all sounds a bit heady, don’t worry, few people understand — their response to Kaiser’s work is more visceral than intellectual, and that’s just fine. He will be joined by Steuart Liebig on contrabassguitars and electronics along with others. Expect improvisation using electronic and acoustic instruments including software Kaiser has been developing for the last year while in Germany. Free. Friday, July 10 at Zoey’s Café, 451 E.
