SIPS ‘N’ SOUNDS OF JAZZ: THE PERFECT PAIRING. September 21. Grammy Award-winning Musicians Tom Scott, Roger Kellaway and Brian Nova, along with Jimmy Calire, Billy Valentine and Missoni Lanza, will take to the stage for the second annual Libbey Bowl Foundation Fall Benefit Party at the Bowl. MOONLIGHT AT THE RANCH VII Saturday, Sept. 21, 5:30-11 p.m. An exciting yearly event with dozens of the area’s finest restaurants offering generous tastings, live music from renowned bands, as well as great decorations, costumes and other live entertainment. VENTURA COMEDY FESTIVAL: LAUGHTER BY THE SEA Monday, Sept. 23-Sunday, Sept. 29. Comedian Erik Griffin from MTV’s hit show “Workaholics” opens the festival on Sept. 23 at the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club, and closes with a very special performance from comedian Jay Mohr at the Crowne Plaza Ventura. The festival includes 28 shows, more than 180 comedians and six locations, including The Players Casino and the Ventura Harbor Comedy Club. CALIFORNIA BEER FESTIVAL Saturday, Sept. 21, and Sunday, Sept. 22. Saturday’s craft beer celebration will feature more than 130 brews, several food trucks and live music. Guests will receive a 3-ounce glass and pours from some of the nation’s best breweries, featuring Firestone Walker, Stone Brewing Company and local favorites Surf Brewery and Island Brewing Company.
