A group in favor of a failed Oxnard traffic initiative has reworked the roadway plan and plans to submit a new petition to voters in an attempt to get the measure on an upcoming ballot.

The Citizens for Responsible Traffic Planning turned in the initiative to the Oxnard City Clerk’s office Jan. 18 for review, the group said. The city attorney will also look over the petition before it is circulated in Oxnard.

Backers failed to get enough valid signatures to qualify the first initiative for the ballot, but hope to gather enough signatures this time in order to bring the measure before voters in November.
