It’s not actually at the beach, but it is partially outside and you can see the ocean — and once the music starts at Bombay Bar & Grill’s annual indoor/outdoor beach party it won’t matter where you are. The three day event (most of the action is on Friday and Saturday) will feature some of the area’s most promising musical talent. Friday’s lineup includes the Shoemaker Brothers, the return of the Ska Daddyz, Lovebird (who we’re not likely to see again for a little while), Kyle Hunt & the King Gypsy, the Shoddy Cons and DJ Ecto1 with Flashman. Saturday is a kinder, gentler bill with chanteuse Delaney Gibson, Grimm & Hutch, The Firekat Soundsystem, Lion I’s (one of Ventura’s most loved and enduring bands), The Pits, Shades of Day and Rey Fresco. All night taco bar, outdoor stages, complimentary leis and a bona fide tiki bar, with music scenester Jeff Hershey guest bartending, can only fuel the madness that’s sure to ensue.
July 29 to Aug. 1, 6 p.m to closing at Bombay Bar & Grill, 143 S. California St., Ventura 643-4404.
Three Bad Jacks returns to the stage with Big Jugs and Phantom Pomps at Dirty Vinyl on Friday, July 30.
Thursday, July 29, Rock City Studios presents National Rifle, METP, The Absolute, Holliday and Night on Fire.
