THE DIRTY HEADS  Hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as the new “torch bearers” of the So Cal sound, but hardly living in the shadow of Sublime (despite guest vocals by new Sublime vocalist Rome on its single “Lay Me Down”) this is a band that if nothing else, should make locals smile with its sun drenched, feel good reggae-rock. The Dirty Heads have had music featured on the video game Hawk’s Downhill Jam and various television and film projects. They are joined by Ventura’s own Seth Pettersen and the Undertow whose new CD So Fully, a lush and lovely sonic postcard from coastal So Cal was just released. It’s the warm fuzzy show of the month, perfect for a Gold Coast Indian summer. Dirty Heads and Seth Petterson and the Undertow at the Ventura Theater on Friday, Oct. 1. 26 S. Chestnut St., Ventura. 653-0721 or www.venturatheater.net.
