CITRUS CLASSIC BALLOON FESTIVAL Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28. 6:30 a.m.-11 p.m. The Citrus Classic features hot-air balloons on display at sunrise and sunset over scenic mountains and orchards. The family-friendly event offers something for everyone, including sunset dinners, wine and beer tastings, a kid’s discovery fest, skydivers, a car and tractor show, vendors, food trucks, live music and much more. 19TH ANNUAL OXNARD SALSA FESTIVAL Saturday, July 28, and Sunday, July 29, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Spicy food, hot music and Oxnard’s cool ocean breezes are on the menu for the Plaza Park is the place for a two-day celebration of everything salsa – the food, the music and the dance. COMMUNITY ARTS FUNDRAISER July 28. During the fundraiser variety show everyone’s favorite vocal coach, Jodi Farrell, performs with her acoustic trio TresCoustics; singer-songwriter Smitty West and Julija Zonic perform the greatest love songs; visual artist Bethany Marie Harris will display her tree series; and sculptors from Art City will be on hand. There will be a silent auction featuring original art. Proceeds from the evening will go toward various local arts organizations and to provide needy kids with musical instruments and art supplies.
