WINGS OVER CAMARILLO Saturday, Aug. 18, and Sunday, Aug. 19, noon-4:30 p.m. The Camarillo Wings Association will host the WWII 325th Fighter Group Checkertail Clan during its 67th Annual Reunion at this year’s Wings Over Camarillo Air Show with support from volunteers from the Southern California Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, EAA Chapter 723 and the Ventura County 99s. An expanded air show flight demonstration features many popular aerobatic routines with nearly 90 aircraft, including vintage planes, experimental and WWII fighter, bombers and transports. The air show features public access to the planes, pilots and crews. Come for the day to watch and walk among the planes, take photos and ask questions of the pilots and air show volunteers. DUBWORD: :GEIST Monday, Aug. 20, 6:30-9:30 p.m. A time-based-art exhibition featuring live and archival video documentation of poets you have been reading and seen performing in the area for the past two decades. Steve Aguilar will be presenting nine short films based on the works of 10 literary artists, including Phil Taggart, Marsha de la O, Friday Lubina, Gauvin and Gwendolyn Alley. The artists will perform in front of the films to create a doppelganger/time bending effect. Work by Art City founder Paul Lindhard and monotypes by Gary Chafe will also be included.
