A RUBICON FAMILY CHRISTMAS Nov. 29 through Dec. 8.
Rubicon Theatre continues its annual tradition of going all out for the holiday season. A series of productions and celebrations kick off with the Rubicon Family Christmas Concert, a joyous celebration featuring renditions of holiday carols and contemporary songs of the season performed in classical, pop, jazz and gospel styles. A Rubicon Family Christmas features Broadway stars from well-known productions along with a chorus of talented young singers. $20-$59. 1006 E. TALL SHIP LADY WASHINGTON Friday, Nov. 27, noon-5 p.m. (through Dec. 8).
Launched in 1989, Lady Washington is a wooden-hulled replica of one of the first U.S.-flagged ships to explore the west coast of North America. Visitors can take a tour of the ship and learn about life in the time that sailing the high seas meant swashbuckling adventures. $3. Channel Islands Harbor, 3900 Pelican Way, Oxnard. DOCTOR WHO: THE DAY OF THE DOCTOR Monday, Nov. 25, 7:30 p.m. (and 10 p.m).
Celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who, BBC America teams up with Fathom Events to screen the anniversary episode in 3-D at select theaters. The anniversary special sees the return of former Doctor David Tennant with Billie Piper and John Hurt. The theatrical event will include specially shot introductions and “The Day of the Doctor: Behind the Lens,” a 10-minute behind-the-scenes featurette. $10-$15.
