Ventura Botanical Gardens looks to fill positions
The nonprofit for Ventura Botanical Gardens is looking for a variety of volunteers, which include event coordinator and marketing committee members, people who have business experience in marketing, public relations or social media. Other positions are historians history buffs interested in helping the garden document and record the efforts thus far; recording secretary, which requires a time commitment of about 10 hours per month, including attending at least two meetings per month; administrator, who would be a detail-oriented person needed to set up new accounts, manage duplicate accounts and update existing accounts in the donor database; and maintenance, to provide the trail with supervised care, whether it be weeding, occasional plant replacement or rock work.

Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County in Santa Paula
Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County is looking for volunteers, including long-term office help to work in the Oxnard office on a regular basis, working a three-hour shift on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. Requirements include computer literate (beginning-intermediate level). Volunteer tasks involve inputting data on volunteers and their hours at new construction sites.  If the volunteer is comfortable with numbers, he/she may be asked to support the accounting department. Volunteers are also needed in construction to work in Santa Paula. The project consists of eight new homes. Regular construction work week is Wednesday through Saturday.  Volunteers are heavily needed on Thursdays and Fridays.
