The American Heart Association delivered nearly 200 knit hats to St. John’s Regional Medical Center’s labor and delivery unit the last week of January, as part of the Little Hats, Big Hearts program. The little hats were knitted by volunteers and will be given to newborns at St. John’s Regional Medical Center throughout February to raise awareness about the symptoms of congenital birth defects in newborns. The Little Hats, Big Hearts program kicks off the American Heart Association’s Heart Month that takes place annually in February.
