Local musician-about-town Doc Ventura hosted a very special holiday show at Namba Performing Arts Space on Saturday, Dec. 15. Doc the Halls was a southern-fried production with blues versions of Christmas carols, some of the Doc’s original works masterfully plucked on his wide array of guitars and a variety of special guests, including gospel singer Mark McKinney, harmonica master Jon Gindick and young musicians from the Magaña Project. Santa may have “shed a soulful tear,” but the audience was gleefully cheering on a night that was anything but silent.
