Believe it or not, the Texas oil man turned 41st President of the United States George H.W. Bush called the city of Ventura home for a short period of time prior to moving to Texas in the 1950s. Bush, who passed away on Friday, Nov. 30, at his home in Texas at the age of 94, moved to Ventura from Connecticut in 1949 and stayed at the Pierpont Inn while learning the oil business. He was joined by wife Barbara Bush, who passed away in April, and son George W. Bush, who would later become the 43rd President of the United States.
