Recollections of a World War II Veteran

Len Zerlin

Recollections of a World War II Veteran

Seventy-six years after the bombing of Pearl Harbor drew the U.S. into war, there aren’t many left to bear witness to the heroism and hope that threaded their way through the destruction and despair of World War II. History Club, Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, and Veterans Resources invite you to hear the words of a local veteran, Len Zerlin, as he recounts his experiences serving in Europe with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Len Zerlin was born in Brooklyn, New York. In World War II, he served as a B-26 turret gunner, flying dozens of missions over France and Germany from 1943 to 1945. In 1996, he published a book about life in the service, titled World War II Memories.

The event is free to the public.
